Social Design
We are an industrial design studio and a social enterprise that strives for positive change by designing transformative technologies currently in the fields of mobility, health, water, self-sufficient toilets and electricity.
Our aim is to drive forward the development of social and sustainable design projects.
In the process, we collaborate globally with universities and research institutes, social enterprises and NGOs in order to improve the situation of people in need. We use Open Design, while applying the principles of Circular Design across all projects.

As part of Austria’s presentation at Expo 2025 under the theme “Austria Composing the Future,” we are proud to contribute our innovation, SafeTap, to the Innovation Lab Austria. This central platform at the Austrian Pavilion highlights forward-thinking ideas that reflect our country’s strengths in research, sustainability, and social impact.
SafeTap is our response to the urgent global need for accessible hygiene. Designed to transform ordinary buckets or canisters into simple, touchless hand-washing stations, it enables hand hygiene in places without access to running water. SafeTap improves health, limits the spread of disease, and empowers communities—while saving water and supporting local economies through low-cost, locally produced components.
SafeTap was selected by the expert jury from nearly 140 submissions. This recognition reinforces our commitment to using design as a tool for social innovation and underscores Austria’s pioneering role on the global stage.
